Did a little more work on this guy to see what exactly happened. Back in August 2011 he was the #1 FCS prospect in the NFL Draft and fast forward to May and he went undrafted followed by being an unsigned free agent and only offered a pair of tryouts. Earlier this month he had an invited tryout with the Seahawks and the Buccaneers were also fairly interested in him but perhaps the Stampeders offer was more of a guarantee.

He's a high potential guy at EWU. Big nose tackle type size at 6'1" 302. He's coming off of an ankle injury and doesn't have a great broad jump in the recent testing which might suggest his ankle isn't back to 100% yet. His 40 yard dash time isn't great but the 10 yard split is pretty solid for a big bodied DT. His stock dropping must be a concern for some but we'll see how things pan out in a competitive camp situation.

It always amazes me the delay between when folks know about it and when it becomes "official". Newspapers in the player's hometowns know about the signing sometimes weeks in advance of it being made public.
