    Game Preview

The Calgary Stampeders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats meet in the 102nd Grey Cup.

The Stamps (15-3, first place in the West) punched their ticket to the big game with a dominating 43-18 win in the Western Final over their arch-rivals, the Edmonton Eskimos. Hamilton (9-9, first place in the East) earned the right to represent the East by upending the Montreal Alouettes by a 40-24 score in the Eastern Final.

It's a matchup of the past two runners-up in the Grey Cup game as Calgary lost 35-22 to the Argos in 2012 and Hamilton dropped last year's game by a 45-23 score to Saskatchewan.

The two teams have met twice before in the championship game with each team winning once in back-to-back meetings in 1998 and 1999. Calgary won the ’98 Grey Cup by a 26-24 score only to have the Tabbies return the favour by winning the Cup the next year 32-21.

This is Calgary's 14th appearance in the big game and the Stamps have a 6-7 record, winning the Grey Cup in 1948, 1971, 1992, 1998, 2001 and 2008. Hamilton has eight CFL championships under its belt as the Tiger-Cats but are currently owners of the second longest Grey Cup drought, not having won in 13 seasons (Winnipeg has not won since 1990 and the Ottawa RedBlacks are a new franchise).

Calgary swept the two regular-season games in 2014, winning 10-7 at home in Week 5 and 30-20 in Hamilton three game later in Week 8.

One of these teams on that field today will win this.

And it might as well be the lads clad in red. ;)

They've led, and dominated, this season's race from the starting post down the backstretch and now into the final turn as they approach the finish line.

They've said, to a man, that their mission this year was the single-minded pursuit of what has eluded a very good team for more seasons than a kinder fate had any right to expect of them.

    To win that championship.

To have their names etched on the face of a timeless trophy alongside those who, in other years, also climbed that mountain to its summit.

To be part of the lore and legend of a grand tradition that has become woven into the very fabric of a great nation.

    It's time.

    Their time.

And we'll all come along for the ride.

So then it becomes our story, too.

None of us can join you in your battle to become one of the best for all time.

All of you will have to do that together.

    But we're still with you.

    Every yard of the way.

    Do it for yourselves.

    And for us.

Now, let's go make our history together, boys! ;)

Come on boys! Put together a 4 quarter effort and they should have no problem being 2014 grey cup champs.

3rd quarter. Maver is hurt. Although Paredes can punt, he hasn't punted since preseason. We may be trying to avoid punting the rest of the way.

    What a predicament.

    Lucky!!!
    Jon Cornish did nothing again.
As good as they played in the first 30. They played terrible in the second half (offensively).

    Congratulations they finally finished.
I'm excited with the Stamps winning the Grey Cup, but that was too close for comfort. Like all season (except for last week), the Stamps made the game very interesting.

Based on his interview, that sounds like it was Coach Huff's last game as coach of the Stamps.

That's the way to go out.

Hard to complain when you win a championship!
I think the future is bright as I still feel this team never out a full 4 quarter performance together this year.
Congrats boys, and the potential for a repeat or 2 is very real!!

John just confirmed he will be back next year as Coach, although he did say there would be an announcement in the next day or 2 regarding it.

Someone asked if he'd be back next year as Coach and he said Yes he would be the Coach, but then he followed that up by saying there would be an announcement regarding that in the next day or 2.
