    Canadian North Unveils CFL-Branded Airplane
The CFL and Canadian North have jointly unveiled a custom-painted Boeing 737-300 aircraft, emblazoned with the CFL logo and the logos of all nine CFL franchise teams. This eye-catching plane will be used to fly the 102nd Grey Cup Champions home from Vancouver.

But the Stampeders' logo is in the wrong place.

All of the team logos on each respective side of the plane are arranged front-to-back in apparent geographical order. On the eastern side, it runs from the most easterly city (Montreal) to its most westerly (Hamilton) and on the western side, it is intended to run from the most westerly club (BC) to the most easterly (Winnipeg).

However, based on geography, Calgary's logo should be beside BC's, not Edmonton's.

But, hell, who else would notice that anyway? :D

Great public relations for the CFL, no matter how they arranged them. ;)

Calgary is actually closer to BC (Vancouver) than Edmonton. i.e. further west.

    Calgary 114.0067 degrees West longitude
    Edmonton 113.5000 degrees West longitude

The logos are in the correct order.

If Calgary is further west than Edmonton - then how are they in the correct order currently? :cyclops:

Well, you've certainly cited the proper coordinates, (as I stated in my post, Calgary is further west than Edmonton) but it looks like you are somehow directionally challenged in applying those facts to the order of the team logos.

The facts you've recited refute your own conclusion, Liske.

My mistake, for some reason I associated the larger longitude number as being further East, not West. I had a dyslexic moment.

Apologies to TM. He is correct, the logos are not in the correct order, geographically.

Maybe the CFL just decided to go north to south for Alberta?

It's in the same order as the logos on cfl.ca. Left to right. I guess they just went with that idea.

    And where is cfl.ca headquartered?

    Oh, right...in eastern Canada.

The same region of the country from which some 30 years ago I received some Statistics Canada official census tract maps which depicted the "City of Calgary, British Columbia"....

Time for a basic geography lesson for lots of folks, apparently...;)

Seems like Winnipeg should have been in the front and BC in the back. Just another symbol of bomber woes.

Photos: Behind the scenes of the painting of the logos on Canadian North's new CFL plane
The CFL unveiled a cool new element of its partnership with official league airline Canadian North Tuesday, a Boeing 737-300 plane painted with the CFL logo, the French (LCF) logo, and all of the current CFL teams' logos. Doing this was quite a complicated process, taking 140 hours over seven days (twenty-hour days) at Premier Aviation Overhaul Center in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. 28 people were involved, and this used 20 gallons of paint in 21 different colours. In addition to being in regular Canadian North service, the plane's going to be used to fly the Grey Cup champions home from Vancouver in two weeks. Here are some photos Canadian North released of the plane being painted. First, what it looked like before most of this work was done, with just the CFL logo outlined on the tail:
