Edmonton Eskimos have relieved Eric Tillman of his duties as GM effective immediately.

I say GOOD. The Eskimos were stupid to hire him in the first place.

Good luck to him in the private sector, away from football. He may as well retire, because he'll never find another job.

His fate was sealed when he made the decision last December.

In fairness there wasn't much difference between 7-11 and 11-7 for this team.

Hope that is the last we see of the guy in the CFL. He never should have been hired by Edmonton in the first place so quickly after his trial in Regina. A year or two away from the game would have been the best thing for the man. Instead, the Eskimos hired him when he was still radioactive & split the Esk fanbase because of it. Pretty obvious that he got off easy because of who he was in Regina. Had he been anybody else he would haver been convicted. Then he pulled off that dumb trade. He deserved what he got.

TSN might make a play for Eric as a commentator (panel or otherwise). Don't think he deserves anything for at least a year. Mike Kelly got black-balled from CFL for being a lout; but Kelly was never convicted of assaulting his girlfriend. Tilman took a charge.

Toronto might have an opening for a AGM if the load gets too heavy on Barker.

Winnipeg might take a look at Eric's wares mainly due to the fact they're spread so thin in player development (north & south)

What could he have done to cause this now?
    Ottawa?
    Winnipeg?
He will surface somewhere, it's the CFL.

Eric's perversions might have him fitting in really well with the Garthstapo in Winnipeg.

Ottawa? What comes around goes around! Is Steve Goodman still available to be the head coach?

The timing sure is absolutely weird. I guess even if they beat Toronto and head to Montreal that likely they won't have any roster additions/deletions during that time but still it's weird.

Apparently the guys on EsksFans are saying that Tillman didn't hang around for the entire alumni dinner.

    RE: Tillman out

Sonic had alienated his staff with leaks to the media along with his arrogance & penchant for blaming others rather than himself when things didn't go right. The decision to fire him was made a week ago. The team just waited until now to go thru with it. Besides, a GM's work is done at this time of year anyway so when you think about it, the timing isn't that strange.

The Esks might be dangerous as they've backed into an indoor game vs. the argos. If they can somehow put a lid on Ricky's passing attack, find a way to collar Owens and limit the damage Kacker and/or Riggs can do they've got a minor chance.

Nicholback the QB will have to have a serviceable game without too many turnovers or poor execution.

whether it's edmonton or calgary I may not want to reveal my starting QB and keep the other team guessing.
