San Jose Sharks took out the trash by eliminating the Nucks 4 straight!!! Changes should be in the works in lotus-land. The Canucks will appear stoic - cuz stoicism is part of hockey operations these days but its appear the end is near for the following in days, weeks (or months if stoicism has really taken hold) 1. Coach Alain Vignault - looks like little girl lost in recent playoffs. His days are numbered. No longer on the clock. 2. Goalers Roberta Luigi and/or Corky Schneider - neither man a playoff menace, both solid regular season goalies. Pittsburgh could use either to stop the bleeding and embarrassment provided by 5-Hole Fleury. 3. GM Mike Gillis - this is the owner's call. NHL GMs don't fire themselves. 4. Sister Act - disappeared faster than Paul LaPolice at a Mensa convention. I think there's 3 or 4 teams who would covet the Sedins in spite of their spotty playoff performances. Winnipeg would be one, Calgary another but who could Wpg. give? - Buffalo Butt Byfuglien, Evanka Kane, Tiny Toby Enstrom? (Don't even think an idiot would give up two great regular season performers for those guys). Calgary might be prepped to give up Kiprusoff plus a couple high draft picks for Sedins (but 6th pick isn't strong enough, possibly Kipper and 2 years of 1st draft picks for the Sedins plus some farm animals) Lots of candidates for head coach including odds-on favourite at this point Lindy Ruff. Ruff could never tolerate softies like the Sedins so he'd have to be assured he could help engineer a trade to upgrade the Canucks. As for GM - gotta be some guys out there. Not talking flops or learning curve guys like Feaster, Chevlydayoff, either. Canucks might limp along with Gillis if he concedes to trading the Sisters, canning Vigneault, etc.
