Starting to get guys like Marcellus Bowman off the injured list. Suber & Stewart should be coming around after the bye week to be fresh for the season's second half for sure. Pierce will be ready to back up Brink by early September.

Volny will give the Bombers some additional canadian support by the end of August (as reserve rb behind Simpson)

Bomber defense is starting to get some glue and confidence and Bowman's insertion will work wonders for Tim Burke's charges.

That leaves the bad news. No matter how many starters come back on offense the team is plagued by chronically inefficient and panicky coaching in the form of Plop & Crow (Crowton). Plop has some startingly bad tendencies during games and his offensive adjustments are truly bad at times (most times).

Other than that the Bombers will present a solid challenge for all comers. However, due to Plop's problems they'll always be vulnerable to losing, even by tiny amounts!

The guy replacing Douglas, Jordan Taormina, is actually starting to play pretty well after a rough first few games. They have Boatman (ex Argo) if he falters and of course I'm sure Mack will find someone amongst the NFL cuts. Play calling is head scratching at times though, you are right Nate.

Big fan of the Canadian Beaver logo. Sells well in the States.

They lost Nate Riva today, the Sask. Rider cut who came to replace all the other guys who've chopped down - Volny, Woodson, couple others. They don't have another canadian running back in town to back up Chad Simpson (who's still a bit wonky himself) so they'll either dress their import backup (Will Ford) or bring a guy like Jon Oosterhuis out of forced exile (retirement) to be a blocking back/tight end - however, Oosterhuis, even in his prime has no push whatsoever, he's primarily a blocker/tight end type of guy - 6'4", 250

Personally, the bombers should consider giving Henoc Muamba some practice reps at RB. The kid is 6'1" and 225, he's strong, fast and athletic - he's been getting great confidence at OLB and MLB (rotation) and special teams. Nows the time for the better canucks to get really versatile. Don't know if Plop has the mindset (like Bud Grant) to squeeze versatility out of his men. Another idea is to put out top stud WR, canuck Cory Watson in at FB - he's a monster blocker and he's got good speed. Put him at FB - you can still keep him in tight or roll him out into receiver formation (option remains)

Was Riva injured? Or cut from the team?

Riva hurt his hammy - out at least 1 game, probably 3 to 5 in bomberland.

As predicted, Will Ford (import RB) has been elevated to the roster.

Bombers cut a couple guys - a defensive end and a DB named Darrell Pascoe - both guys surviving on injury list skills.

Carl Volny, a cdn. rb will be rostered but the guy is still banged up, no burst so he'll share pine space with another pine-rider, Jade Etienne.

Bombers are fielding a 40 man roster vs. the Als. Very dangerous.

Do you say "very dangerous" in jest, Nate?

    Wrong word, iso.....

Very dangerous in terms of guys having to do double duty cuz Volny & Jade Etienne will primarily be pine-ridin' spectators on Friday nite - hence the term 40 man roster! By the 3rd quarter some guys will be suckin wind, while Volny and Etienne watch proceedings. But the team doesn't have many other guys in camp who are capable of even dressing. And Etienne is great at dressing, not so much at other aspects of ball.

Everybody is picking on Johnny Forzani... Jade Etienne isn't anywhere as close to Forzani as a player. Pople here should lay off the kid...
