Wpg's lack of competitiveness is costing the CFL. When Wpg. visits the gate will be less cuz nobody pays good money to see excellenece in sewage. Winnipeg will surive the next two years cuz essentially they are financed by the NDP provincial govt. and most bomber fans are tethered to seat-chases for the new stadium (arriving around May or June 2012 with minor re-touches all next summer) The Bomber revenue model, expecting to payback 3 to 6 million a year of the NDP's 125 million dollar loan is now a fairy tale vs. a poor bet. The Bombers will be lucky to pay back a million a year and thats only if they draw crowds of 29,000 to 32,000 in their new house (and merchandise and sponsorhip holds tight, I fear a slide in merch sales, a slight increase in sponsorship) But the biggest problem is 70% ON-FIELD and 30% OVERALL MANAGEMENT. Bush Leaugue Buchko is not the answer at CEO. Blind Joe Mack not the answer at GM. Porky (Paul Plop) not the answer as head coach. But where do ya go? Fire all of them and you're looking at an immediate debt obligation of around 3 million buckarooneies PLUS the cost of taking on replacements (they'd also have to fire a piece of trash named Ross Hodgkinson, asst. GM but his obligation is no more than $150k annually) Ya keep them and the delivered on-field product will be the same or worse. Send them down the sewage line and there's no immediate guarantee the next band of bandits will have answers or will just cling to the mantra - "We've got to clean up Mack 'n Plop's mess!!!" In the interest of mediocrity the team will trudge on with only minor tinkering. The board, Blind Joe, Porky & the other bandits will bury their beaks in the trough and just hope against hope someone or something will come along and pull the sewage out of the sewer. Don't think thats gonna happen - however, the new stadium keeps fans on their toes for fear of losing their spot in line. ITS THE LEMMING PSYCHOLOGY - IN FULL FORCE!!!
