First, a salute to the Toronto Argo Grey Cup committee for putting on a show. Might not be on the grassroots community level you'll find in Regina, Calgary, Winnipeg or Edmonton but for a city of 4.5 million they did a nice job. May have saved the CFL in the process.

STILL, WHAT WERE THE BIGGEST CFL MISTAKES OF 2012?

    1. Winnipeg hiring an old southern drifter scout as their GM instead of Jim Barker, a proven winner and team-builder. Joe Mack can find the odd great player, he's just not a team-building GM.

    2. Tricky Ray being traded by a professional traitor, Eric Tilman to the Grey Cup Argos for a bag of garbage.

    3. Hamilton throwing the kitchen sink (financially) at a low-life like George Cortez.

    4. Winnipeg's Stadium Debacle. All to do with timing, nothing to do with cost overruns (yet).

    5. Chamblin slotting in Richie Hall as Sask'n d-coordinator.

    6. Buck Pierce

    7. Bob Young's alternative facility for 2013

    8. Jeff Reinbold being brought in as Montreal's d-coordinator

    9. Joe Mack's CIS Draft Philosophy - aka THE BIG EMPTY, getting goofed on Jabar Westerman and taking Tyson No Shoulders, continuing mis-adventures of Jade Etienne, etc., etc.

    10. Another Joe Mack package - letting Brendan Labbate go to Sask., cutting Clark Kent, no offer to Obby Khan, faith in 3 QBs - one without a body (Pierce), another without a brain (Elliott) and a third without an arm (Brink)

Agree with most but not all. Here's one that I don't. I wouldn't call George Cortez a low life. This is Calgary after all & he was a successful coach with the Stamps for a lotta years. He is well respected here. If you look at his team, the money for recruiting went to the offense. In hindsight, the Ti Cats really didn't need Fantuz & the money they spent on the guy. It should have been directed to the other side of the football. The other bust was was slotback Sam Giguerre who was THE MOST OVERHYPED player in the exhibition season by who else??? Rod Black.... who is a graduate of the Glen Suitor School Of Overstatement.

A low-life in what he delivered. I'm sure Enrico Colantonio's twin brother is decent.

He was smart in one respect. He out-smarted the bombers for first pick in CIS.

Of course out-smarting The Garthstapo isn't exactly a plum on anyone's resume.

Glad Doug Flutie was in the house. Apparently he was with Cuthbert and Soots in the booth for a bit. His two former teams on the field. He had to be a bit torn between the two.

Doug did a good job in the booth. Of course he's a pro at that these days but he really had a classy couple of minutes of air time.

Flutie was great in the booth. Actually ran the color on a couple sequences without doing the 300 hours of game prep required by Suitor and CC....

Nice for TSN to make yesterday a Rod Black Free zone....

On the other hand, Plop reverted to form at half-time....bungling line after line, getting stuff mixed up and generally becoming the Porky Plop we all know and love.

It'll be known as plop-talk. Like his coaching style very crappy looking on the outside but still good enough to keep media folk tongue-tied.

Worst CFL mistake to come. Hiring that low life Eric Tillman to be GM of yet another CFL team.

Seriously eh? I was on the top side of the Vanier flag with all the soon to be disappointed McMaster fans. and the bottom side of the Grey Cup miniature one. For once that the CIS outclassed the cfl.

He's a silver-tongued devil. Too bad Michael Landon's not around anymore - Eric would have been perfect as a travelling snake-oil salesmin on Little House!!!

PLOP looked like he was sitting behind a poorly maintained aquarium.

A few questions for anyone in attendance:
Was there a "pat down" at the door?
Did the pyro's make it tough to breath? I thought an athletes lungs might have been messed up with all the smoke i saw?
    The dome was closed?
Did anyone get to The ROM? Was the Egyptian mummy missing? Lightfoot?
    Any Lyle sightings?
    Any Rob Ford sightings?? lmao
The field turf looked messed up, was there a problem?
Those upper deck rails looked awfully low, any sense of concern?
